DESCRIPTION
In this role, you are the execution lead for technology fulfillment across multiple concurrent demand streams — launches, operations, and programs — within your region. You'll interpret demand signals, drive cross-functional coordination with deployment, logistics, and vendor teams, and own delivery performance from order creation through completion. You serve as the go-to for translating operational complexity into clear recommendations and resolving fulfillment blockers before they impact customers. You'll also mentor execution specialists around you, raising the bar through coaching and modeling — owning the outcome, not just your own workload. When something goes wrong, you own the recovery. When fulfillment runs clean, it's because you drove it there.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end fulfillment execution across multiple demand streams — launches, operations, and programs — owning delivery performance from demand signal through order completion.
- Lead cross-functional coordination with deployment, logistics, planning, and vendor teams to resolve fulfillment blockers and align delivery commitments with customer milestones.
- Own supplier escalation management and delivery tradeoff recommendations to maintain on-time, in-full performance across your portfolio.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, technology adoption, and standardization efforts that increase execution efficiency and reduce manual intervention across your region.
- Mentor fulfillment execution specialists by reviewing their work, coaching on escalation structure and data-driven decision-making, and raising the operational bar across the team.
A day in the life
Your morning starts with a cross-regional scan — flagging at-risk orders, prioritizing interventions, and connecting dots across demand streams before they become problems. Mid-morning brings cross-functional syncs with deployment, logistics, or vendor teams where you translate operational complexity into clear recommendations. Afternoons shift to program execution — driving process improvements, tracking technology adoption, or building analytics that show what's working. Mentoring happens naturally throughout: coaching specialists on escalation structure, demand signals, and data-driven decision-making. You own outcomes end-to-end as an IC, but your real multiplier is making the team around you sharper every week.

Which companies sponsor visas for program specialists in Tennessee?
Employers with a track record of sponsoring program specialists in Tennessee include Vanderbilt University Medical Center, HCA Healthcare, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee Valley Authority, and several state university systems. Federal contractors based in the Oak Ridge and Nashville corridors also hire program specialists and frequently sponsor H-1B visa and other work visas for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for program specialist roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program specialists in Tennessee, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some university and research institution employers also sponsor J-1 visas for exchange visitor programs. Candidates with extraordinary ability may explore the O-1 visa, while those from qualifying countries may have access to TN visa or E-3 visa classifications depending on the role.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most program specialist sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads Tennessee in program specialist openings tied to visa sponsorship, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, government contractors, and corporate headquarters. Knoxville is a strong second, anchored by the University of Tennessee and proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Memphis generates demand through its healthcare and logistics sectors, while Chattanooga has a smaller but growing employer base in manufacturing and technology.
How to find program specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program specialist roles in Tennessee by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from manually vetting hundreds of listings. You can browse active openings across Nashville, Knoxville, and other Tennessee cities, filtered to employers who have sponsored work visas in the past. This is particularly useful for H-1B dependent candidates who need sponsorship confirmed before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for program specialists seeking visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee's strong presence in healthcare administration and federally funded research creates consistent demand for program specialists, and employers in these sectors are generally familiar with the H-1B sponsorship process. The University of Tennessee system and Oak Ridge National Laboratory serve as significant pipelines for international candidates. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide, and employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before sponsoring an H-1B.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program specialist jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
