Which companies sponsor visas for technical architects in Kentucky?
Louisville-based Humana is one of the most active sponsors for technical architect roles in Kentucky, driven by its large technology and data infrastructure teams. Kindred Healthcare, Tempur Sealy, and regional financial institutions also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data. Toyota's Georgetown operations have sponsored technical roles connected to manufacturing systems and enterprise IT, making manufacturing and healthcare the two dominant sponsoring sectors.
Which visa types are most common for technical architect roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for technical architect positions in Kentucky, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers, particularly in manufacturing or global technology firms, may also be transferred into Kentucky-based architect roles.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most technical architect sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the largest share of technical architect sponsorship activity in Kentucky, anchored by its healthcare technology sector and corporate headquarters. Lexington is the secondary market, with university-adjacent technology companies and regional employers. Georgetown sees demand tied to Toyota's North American operations. Employers outside these three cities are sparse, so most sponsored architect roles are concentrated in the Louisville metro.
How to find technical architect visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical architect roles posted by Kentucky employers. Because sponsoring architects at the senior level involves meaningful cost and legal overhead, the listings skew toward established companies with dedicated immigration programs. Searching Migrate Mate by state and role saves time compared to manually screening general postings for sponsorship language.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical architects seeking sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky does not have a state-level immigration program, so sponsorship follows standard federal H-1B and employment-based processes. Employers must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the Louisville or Lexington metropolitan area, as determined by the Department of Labor. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville produce engineering and computer science graduates who occasionally feed local employer pipelines, but most sponsored architects are mid-to-senior professionals relocating from other states or countries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical architect jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
