Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Louisiana?
Energy and petrochemical employers are the most active sponsors, including Shell, Chevron, and ExxonMobil operations along the Gulf Coast. Defense contractors supporting Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans and Barksdale Air Force Base also sponsor program managers. Ochsner Health and other large healthcare networks sponsor internationally, particularly for technology and operations program management roles.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Louisiana?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for program managers in Louisiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or computer science. Employers in energy and defense also sponsor L-1B and L-1A visas for program managers transferring from overseas offices within the same multinational organization.
Which cities in Louisiana have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
New Orleans and Baton Rouge account for the majority of program manager sponsorship activity in Louisiana. New Orleans draws technology, logistics, and healthcare employers, while Baton Rouge is anchored by petrochemical operations, state government contractors, and universities. Lake Charles has seen increased activity tied to liquefied natural gas and industrial construction projects along the Gulf.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Louisiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program manager roles in Louisiana by visa sponsorship availability, so you are not sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. The platform focuses on roles where employers have an active history of H-1B or other work visa filings, which is particularly useful in Louisiana's energy, defense, and healthcare sectors.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program managers seeking visa sponsorship in Louisiana?
Louisiana's program manager market is heavily tied to project-based industries like oil and gas, industrial construction, and defense, which means sponsoring employers often expect experience managing large capital or infrastructure projects. Louisiana State University and Tulane University generate local hiring pipelines, but international candidates with energy sector credentials from abroad are also actively recruited for Gulf Coast operations roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Louisiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
