Lead a team at the heart of bringing life-changing animal health innovations to the world. As the Manager of Regulatory Operational Compliance, you'll oversee the team responsible for preparing global product documentation for a diverse portfolio of veterinary and water diagnostic products — partnering closely with R&D and Lines of Business to keep innovation moving from lab to market, worldwide.
This is a role for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, loves building better systems, and gets energy from leading people. Why this role matters:
Every new diagnostic tool, every product update, every improvement to how we test and protect animal and environmental health depends on getting the documentation right the first time. Delays or inconsistencies in regulatory submissions can slow down products that veterinarians, labs, and pet owners around the world are counting on. - Your skillset includes clear analytical and critical thinking skills and an ability to develop robust processes even when you're not the subject matter expert
In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop a team responsible for the end-to-end creation of product documentation supporting global regulatory submissions
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to assess the global impact of critical product changes
- Lead supply chain outreach efforts, partnering closely with procurement teams to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed across the supply base
- Develop standard process and align with ERP system function for control of product movement based on regulatory requirements
- Represent International Regulatory and Compliance on new product development and product change process, ensuring documents align with requirements
- Contribute to high-visibility, cross-functional projects — including initiatives tied to Quality and IDEXX's Quality Management Systems
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience in regulatory (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and direct regulatory work across competing priorities
- Experience with in-vitro diagnostics; Global regulatory knowledge is a plus
- A collaborative style backed by excellent relationship-building and customer service skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving instincts, with a knack for turning complexity into clear, workable solutions
- Project management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort and confidence working across cultures and geographies
- Some travel required; this role is onsite at least 2 days per week
What you can expect from us:
- Salary range starting at $105,000 based on experience
- Opportunity for annual cash bonus
- Health / Dental / Vision Benefits Day-One
- 5% matching 401k

Which companies sponsor visas for compliance specialists in Maine?
Financial institutions like Bangor Savings Bank and Machias Savings Bank, healthcare systems like MaineHealth and Northern Light Health, and energy companies operating in the state have sponsored compliance roles. Larger multinationals with Maine offices, particularly in Portland's growing financial and professional services sector, are more likely to have established visa sponsorship infrastructure than smaller regional employers.
Which visa types are most common for compliance specialist roles in Maine?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for compliance specialists in Maine, as most roles require a bachelor's degree in a related field like finance, law, or business, qualifying as a specialty occupation. Candidates from Canada may pursue TN visa status under the USMCA if their role fits the qualifying categories. Those with extraordinary achievement in compliance may explore O-1 visa classification, though this is less common.
Which cities in Maine have the most compliance specialist sponsorship jobs?
Portland concentrates the majority of Maine's compliance sponsorship opportunities, driven by its financial services firms, healthcare organizations, and professional services companies. Augusta, as the state capital, hosts regulatory agencies and government contractors with compliance needs. Bangor supports additional opportunities through its regional healthcare and banking presence, though the overall sponsorship market in Maine is smaller than major metropolitan states.
How to find compliance specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Maine?
Migrate Mate filters compliance specialist jobs in Maine specifically to employers open to visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to roles where international candidates are automatically disqualified. You can browse current openings by role and state, making it straightforward to identify which Maine-based employers in healthcare, financial services, and energy are actively seeking compliance professionals who need H-1B or other visa support.
Are there any state-specific considerations for compliance specialists seeking sponsorship in Maine?
Maine's compliance hiring is closely tied to its dominant industries: healthcare, financial services, and energy. Candidates with credentials in healthcare regulatory compliance or financial industry regulations tend to find the strongest fit with Maine employers. The state has a smaller sponsorship market overall, so targeting employers with prior H-1B filing history, which is publicly searchable through DOL disclosure data, improves the odds of a productive application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance specialist jobs in Maine?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
