Which companies sponsor visas for radiologic technologists in Maryland?
The largest sponsoring employers in Maryland are major health systems: Johns Hopkins Health System, University of Maryland Medical System, MedStar Health, Adventist HealthCare, and Luminis Health. These organizations operate multiple hospital campuses and outpatient imaging centers across the state, giving them both the legal infrastructure and institutional experience to file H-1B and other work visa petitions for qualified radiologic technologists.
Which visa types are most common for radiologic technologist roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for radiologic technologists in Maryland, provided the role meets the specialty occupation standard, which typically requires a bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a closely related field. Some employers also sponsor EB-3 immigrant visas for longer-term hires, particularly for positions that are difficult to fill domestically. ARRT certification and Maryland state licensure are prerequisites regardless of visa type.
How to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland, with listings filtered specifically for candidates who need work authorization. Rather than sifting through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from Maryland health systems and imaging centers that have a documented history of sponsoring international hires in radiology and allied health fields.
Which cities in Maryland have the most radiologic technologist sponsorship jobs?
Baltimore is the primary hub, home to Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Maryland Medical Center, and multiple MedStar facilities with large imaging departments. Bethesda and Silver Spring in Montgomery County also generate significant volume, driven by suburban hospital campuses and proximity to NIH-affiliated medical centers. Annapolis, Frederick, and Columbia have smaller but active markets through regional health system outpatient facilities.
Are there any Maryland-specific considerations for radiologic technologists seeking visa sponsorship?
Maryland requires radiologic technologists to hold a state license issued by the Maryland Department of Health, in addition to ARRT certification. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the applicable Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific geographic area, which differs between Baltimore metro and the suburban Washington counties. Maryland's concentration of academic medical centers also means some positions are tied to teaching or research functions, which can affect how a role is classified for visa purposes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologic technologist jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
