Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. Which companies sponsor visas for bookkeepers in Massachusetts?
Financial services firms, large hospital systems such as Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess, and Boston-area universities are among the employers that have historically sponsored bookkeepers. Regional accounting and professional employer organizations in Worcester and Springfield also file sponsorships. Sponsorship activity is not uniform across all employers, so confirming a company's sponsorship history before applying is worthwhile.
Which visa types are most common for bookkeeper roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for bookkeeper positions, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific bachelor's degree must be the standard entry requirement. Bookkeeping roles that lean toward staff accountant or accounting analyst functions are more defensible under this standard. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role aligns with the accountant category under USMCA.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most bookkeeper sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of sponsored bookkeeper roles in Massachusetts, driven by concentration of financial services, biotech, and higher education employers. Worcester is a secondary market with activity from healthcare systems and manufacturing firms. Smaller clusters exist in Springfield and along the Route 128 technology corridor, where mid-size companies with international operations occasionally sponsor accounting support staff.
How to find bookkeeper visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify Massachusetts employers actively hiring bookkeepers who will sponsor. Rather than sorting through general postings, you can search by role and state to surface relevant opportunities. Given that sponsorship for bookkeeper roles depends heavily on how the position is structured, focusing on employers with a documented history of H-1B or TN filings is a practical starting point.
Are there state-specific considerations for bookkeeper visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts follows federal prevailing wage rules, so employers must pay the Department of Labor wage level for the bookkeeper or accounting role in the relevant metro area. Boston's prevailing wages are among the higher benchmarks in the Northeast given the cost of living. The state's strong university pipeline, particularly from programs at UMass and Northeastern, means employers are familiar with international hiring, which can work in candidates' favor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored bookkeeper jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
