Which companies sponsor visas for business development professionals in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts-based employers with consistent records of sponsoring work visas for business development professionals include Biogen, HubSpot, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Wayfair, Akamai Technologies, and MathWorks. Life sciences and enterprise software companies in the Greater Boston area account for a significant share of sponsorship activity, as these industries actively compete for international talent with strong commercial and partnership development skills.
Which visa types are most common for business development professional roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for business development professionals in Massachusetts, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, finance, or a related field. The L-1B visa applies when a multinational employer transfers an employee with specialized knowledge. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible under the TN visa category for qualifying business roles.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most business development professional sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge together account for the largest share of business development visa sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, anchored by the biotech corridor along Route 128 and the Kendall Square innovation hub. Waltham and Lexington host significant enterprise technology and pharmaceutical employers. Worcester is growing as a secondary market, particularly in medical devices and higher education-linked commercial roles.
How to find business development professional visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse business development professional roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Greater Boston's biotech, SaaS, and professional services employers, which represent the highest concentration of sponsoring companies in the state.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for business development professionals seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring H-1B workers for business development roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which reflect the state's generally competitive compensation levels across finance, biotech, and technology sectors. The state's deep university pipeline, including MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, means many sponsoring employers are already familiar with OPT and H-1B processes, which can streamline the transition from student status to sponsored employment.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development professional jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
