Which companies sponsor visas for corporate accountants in Massachusetts?
Financial services firms and life sciences companies account for a significant share of corporate accountant sponsorships in Massachusetts. State Street, Fidelity Investments, Liberty Mutual, Biogen, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals have all filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting roles. Large consulting firms with Boston offices, including Deloitte and PwC, also sponsor corporate accountants, particularly those with CPA credentials or experience in financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.
Which visa types are most common for corporate accountant roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for corporate accountants in Massachusetts, as accounting roles at the bachelor's degree level generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can use that period to gain experience while employers file H-1B visa petitions. Some senior candidates with exceptional credentials may qualify for O-1 visa classification, though that pathway is less common for accounting roles.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most corporate accountant sponsorship jobs?
Boston is the clear center for sponsored corporate accountant roles in Massachusetts, particularly in the Financial District, Back Bay, and the Seaport District where financial services, insurance, and life sciences firms are concentrated. Cambridge has demand driven by biotech and university-affiliated organizations. Waltham and Lexington along the Route 128 corridor also generate openings, as many pharmaceutical and technology companies maintain their finance functions in those suburban office parks.
How to find corporate accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search corporate accountant roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces openings from financial services, life sciences, and technology employers across Boston and the Route 128 corridor. Filtering by role and state helps narrow results to companies that have an established track record of sponsoring accounting professionals.
Are there state-specific considerations for corporate accountants seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers must pay H-1B workers the higher of the actual wage paid to comparable employees or the prevailing wage determined by the Department of Labor for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan area, which ranks among the higher prevailing wage regions nationally. CPA licensure is issued by the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy, and while sponsorship itself is a federal process, employers often factor state licensure eligibility into hiring decisions for senior corporate accounting roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored corporate accountant jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
