Search Finance Director Jobs in MassachusettsFinance Director Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for finance directors in Massachusetts?
Boston-area employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for senior finance roles include Fidelity Investments, State Street, Biogen, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and Mass General Brigham. Large financial services firms and life sciences companies in Massachusetts tend to have dedicated immigration infrastructure, making them more likely to sponsor finance directors than smaller regional employers.
Which visa types are most common for finance directors in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for finance directors in Massachusetts, as the role typically meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements given the degree-level financial or accounting background it demands. Senior candidates with extraordinary achievement may also qualify for the O-1A. Candidates already on L-1A status through a multinational employer can sometimes transition into finance director roles without entering the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most finance director sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest share of finance director sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, particularly in the Financial District, Back Bay, and Longwood Medical Area. Cambridge and Waltham are secondary hubs, driven by the concentration of biotech and life sciences firms along the Route 128 corridor. Worcester has a smaller but growing presence through its health system and higher education employers.
How to find finance director visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to employers who sponsor visas, so you can browse finance director roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from financial services, life sciences, and healthcare employers across Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham, which are the primary markets for sponsored finance director positions in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for finance directors pursuing visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for finance directors must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirement for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan area, which sets the wage floor above many other U.S. markets given the region's cost of living. The state's deep concentration of mutual fund companies, biotech firms, and academic medical centers also means that finance director roles frequently require industry-specific expertise, which can strengthen a specialty occupation determination.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance director jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
