Which companies sponsor visas for C.N.A.s in Michigan?
Michigan's largest health systems are the most active sponsors for CNA roles. Henry Ford Health, Beaumont Health (now Corewell Health), Trinity Health, and McLaren Health Care have sponsored international healthcare workers in the past. Long-term care operators and skilled nursing facility chains also hire CNAs across the state, though sponsorship availability varies by facility and staffing needs at any given time.
Which visa types are most common for C.N.A. roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is generally not used for CNA roles because the position typically does not require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is a core H-1B requirement. Employers more commonly pursue the EB-3 immigrant visa for CNAs, which covers skilled and unskilled workers. Some facilities also sponsor through the TN visa category for Canadian nationals who qualify under eligible occupations.
How to find c.n.a. visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for CNA roles in Michigan to see employers who are open to sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually checking individual health system career pages, where sponsorship availability is rarely stated upfront.
Which cities in Michigan have the most C.N.A. sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its surrounding suburbs, including Dearborn and Troy, have the highest concentration of CNA openings given the density of major health systems headquartered there. Grand Rapids is a growing hub anchored by Corewell Health's west Michigan operations. Lansing, Flint, and Ann Arbor also have consistent demand through regional hospital networks and university-affiliated medical centers like Michigan Medicine.
Are there state-specific considerations for C.N.A. visa sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan requires CNAs to hold a valid state certification through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. International candidates must ensure their credentials are recognized or that they complete the required training and competency evaluation before employment begins. Facilities subject to Medicaid and Medicare certification standards must employ state-certified CNAs, so employers will factor certification status into any sponsorship decision.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored c.n.a. jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
