Which companies sponsor visas for product architects in Michigan?
Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Stellantis are among the most consistent H-1B visa sponsors for product architect roles in Michigan, particularly as they expand software-defined vehicle platforms. Enterprise technology employers in Ann Arbor, including divisions of Conduent and Rocket Companies, also file regularly. Sponsorship activity is highest at large, publicly traded employers with established immigration support infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for product architect roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product architects in Michigan, given the role's classification as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1A or L-1B transfers are also relevant for candidates moving from a multinational employer's international office into a Michigan-based role. O-1 visa petitions are less common but filed for candidates with demonstrable distinction in product or systems architecture.
Which cities in Michigan have the most product architect sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its immediate suburbs, including Dearborn, Auburn Hills, and Southfield, account for the largest share of product architect sponsorship activity in Michigan due to the concentration of automotive OEMs and their technology divisions. Ann Arbor has a growing tech presence anchored by University of Michigan spinouts and enterprise software firms. Grand Rapids has a smaller but active market, particularly in healthcare technology and manufacturing software.
How to find product architect visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship, which is particularly useful for product architects in Michigan where sponsorship availability varies widely between automotive giants and smaller software firms. You can search by role and state to surface active openings in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and beyond. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a company does not sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for product architect roles and visa sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan's prevailing wage determinations for product architect roles are heavily influenced by the Detroit metropolitan area's compensation benchmarks, which employers must meet when filing a Labor Condition Application. The automotive sector's ongoing transition to software-defined products has increased demand for candidates with platform architecture backgrounds, which can support stronger specialty occupation arguments in H-1B petitions. University of Michigan and Michigan State University also serve as talent pipelines, and candidates with OPT through those institutions sometimes transition into sponsored roles at Michigan-based employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product architect jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
