Which companies in Michigan sponsor visas for product management leads?
Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, and Rocket Companies are among Michigan's most active visa sponsors for senior product roles. Beyond automotive, health systems like Beaumont Health and tech-forward companies in Ann Arbor's startup ecosystem have also filed sponsorship petitions for product management leads. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data confirms which employers have sponsored this role category recently.
Which visa types are most commonly used for product management lead roles in Michigan?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product management leads in Michigan, given the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A or O-1A status may also pursue these roles. Australians have access to the E-3 visa as an additional pathway.
Which cities in Michigan have the most product management lead sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro suburbs, including Dearborn, Auburn Hills, and Southfield, concentrate the largest share of product management lead sponsorship activity, driven by automotive and fintech employers. Ann Arbor follows closely, anchored by University of Michigan spinoffs and established tech companies. Grand Rapids represents a smaller but growing market, particularly in healthcare and manufacturing technology product roles.
How to find product management lead visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product management lead openings in Michigan without sifting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role level to focus on Michigan-based employers actively hiring international candidates for senior PM positions, saving significant time in the search process.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product management leads in Michigan?
Michigan's concentration in automotive technology means product management leads often work at the intersection of software and hardware, which can strengthen a specialty occupation determination since the role requires specific technical and business expertise. Ann Arbor's university pipeline, particularly from the University of Michigan, also means local employers are generally familiar with OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes for international graduates transitioning into senior product roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product management lead jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
