Which manufacturing companies sponsor E-3 visas in Minnesota?
Minnesota's largest manufacturers have documented LCA filing histories that include E-3 visa sponsorship. 3M, headquartered in Maplewood, and Medtronic, based in Fridley, are among the most active sponsors for engineering and technical roles. Cargill, General Mills, and Polaris Industries also maintain manufacturing operations in the state with international hiring programs. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows which employers have recently sponsored positions matching your occupation.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs?
The Twin Cities metro, covering Minneapolis and Saint Paul, concentrates the highest number of manufacturing employers with E-3 sponsorship history, particularly in medical devices, food processing, and industrial technology. Rochester supports manufacturing roles connected to its broader precision and medical industries. Duluth has manufacturing activity in steel and shipping-related sectors, while St. Cloud and Mankato host food processing and machinery operations that occasionally sponsor skilled international workers.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In manufacturing, roles that commonly qualify include process engineer, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer, validation engineer, supply chain analyst, and automation systems specialist. Production operator or general assembly positions typically do not qualify because they don't require a specific degree. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm whether a specific job title meets the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate surfaces manufacturing job listings from Minnesota employers with verified E-3 LCA filing history, so you can focus on companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor Australian workers. Filter by industry and state to see active roles in engineering, quality, and operations. Searching general job boards makes it difficult to distinguish E-3-willing employers from those with no sponsorship history, so using a platform built around DOL disclosure data saves significant time.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for manufacturing E-3 sponsorship?
Minnesota does not impose state-level licensing requirements that specifically affect E-3 eligibility for most manufacturing engineering roles, though professional engineer licensure through the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID may be relevant for certain civil or structural positions. The state's concentration in regulated industries like medical devices means employers in that subsector are familiar with USCIS documentation standards. Manufacturing roles subject to government contracts may also involve E-Verify enrollment requirements, which employers handle independently of the visa application process.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 manufacturing jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
