Search Technology Jobs in MinnesotaTechnology H-1B1 Chile Sponsorship Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
Which technology companies in Minnesota sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Minnesota's largest technology sponsors tend to be enterprise-scale employers with established immigration programs. Companies like UnitedHealth Group, Target Corporation, and Optum have filed Labor Condition Applications for technology roles in the past. Mid-size technology firms and financial services companies with large engineering teams in the Twin Cities also appear in DOL disclosure data. Reviewing OFLC filing history by employer is the most direct way to identify active sponsors.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the overwhelming majority of technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Minnesota. The broader Twin Cities metro, including suburbs like Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Bloomington, adds significant technology employer density through corporate headquarters and regional offices. Rochester has a smaller but notable technology hiring base connected to Mayo Clinic's health technology operations. Duluth and Greater Minnesota have limited technology sponsorship activity by comparison.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Roles that routinely qualify include software engineers, data engineers, cloud infrastructure specialists, cybersecurity analysts, systems architects, and business intelligence developers. The H-1B1 Chile requires the position to meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, information systems, or electrical engineering. Generalist IT support roles that do not require a specific technical degree are less likely to qualify. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm degree requirements for a given job title.
How do I find technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface technology roles in Minnesota where employers have H-1B1 Chile filing history. Because H-1B visa1 Chile and H-1B share the LCA filing process through DOL, Migrate Mate's employer data reflects verified sponsorship activity rather than self-reported claims. Filtering for Minnesota technology roles gives you a focused list of employers with a documented pattern of sponsoring the visa category you need.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in technology?
Minnesota does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B1 visa obligations, but a few practical factors matter. The state's technology sector is heavily anchored in healthcare IT and retail technology, so qualifying specialty occupation determinations often reference those sub-disciplines. Minnesota employers filing LCAs must post prevailing wage notices at the physical worksite, which affects remote and hybrid arrangements. Chilean nationals should also confirm their passport is valid for the full duration of the intended H-1B1 period before initiating the consular process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile technology jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
