Which companies sponsor visas for home health nurses in Minnesota?
Large health systems including Allina Health, Fairview Health Services, and HealthPartners have sponsored home health nursing roles in Minnesota. National home health agencies like Bayada Home Health Care and Amedisys also operate in the state and have filed for H-1B and EB-3 sponsorships. Staffing firms that place nurses with Minnesota home health clients are another common sponsorship pathway worth researching directly.
Which visa types are most common for home health nurse roles in Minnesota?
The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is the most widely used pathway for internationally trained home health nurses in Minnesota, as it covers skilled workers and aligns with the registered nurse occupational category. The H-1B is less common for bedside nursing roles because home health nursing can face specialty occupation classification challenges. Some Filipino and other internationally trained nurses also arrive through VisaScreen-certified processes tied to EB-3 petitions filed by home health agencies.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most home health nurse sponsorship jobs?
The Twin Cities metro, covering Minneapolis and Saint Paul, concentrates the largest share of home health nurse sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota, given the density of health systems and home health agencies headquartered there. Rochester is a secondary hub due to Mayo Clinic's regional influence on healthcare hiring. Duluth and Saint Cloud also have active home health markets, particularly given ongoing rural nursing shortages across Greater Minnesota.
How to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international nurses and healthcare professionals searching for visa sponsorship roles in the U.S., including home health nurse positions filtered to Minnesota. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable. You can filter by state and role to see current Minnesota home health nurse openings from sponsoring employers.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for home health nurse visa sponsorship?
Minnesota requires home health nurses to hold an active Minnesota registered nurse license issued by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, which must typically be obtained before an employer can complete visa sponsorship paperwork. Internationally trained nurses often need a credentials evaluation and English proficiency verification. Minnesota's nursing shortage in rural areas means some employers outside the Twin Cities actively pursue sponsorship, but licensure processing timelines should be factored into your job search planning.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored home health nurse jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
