Search Program Coordinator Jobs in MinnesotaProgram Coordinator Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for program coordinators in Minnesota?
Healthcare systems are the most consistent sponsors, including Mayo Clinic in Rochester and M Health Fairview, Allina Health, and HealthPartners in the Twin Cities. Large universities such as the University of Minnesota also sponsor program coordinators for research and academic programs. Nonprofit organizations and government-funded agencies in Minneapolis and Saint Paul round out the employer pool, particularly for public health and social services coordination roles.
Which visa types are most common for program coordinator roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for program coordinator roles, provided the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in a field such as public health, education, or social work. Some employers also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Applicants already on OPT or STEM OPT can use that period to secure an employer willing to file an H-1B visa petition.
How to find program coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find program coordinator roles in Minnesota where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically by state and role type, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to postings with no sponsorship clarity. Given that Minnesota's sponsorship activity is heavily concentrated in healthcare and higher education, filtering by those sectors on Migrate Mate helps narrow your search efficiently.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most program coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul together form the primary hub for program coordinator sponsorship, driven by university systems, major nonprofits, and healthcare networks headquartered in the metro. Rochester is the second most active city due to Mayo Clinic's scale and consistent hiring for coordination roles across clinical research and patient programs. Duluth and St. Cloud see occasional openings but at considerably lower volume.
Are there state-specific considerations for program coordinator visa sponsorship in Minnesota?
Minnesota's program coordinator roles are heavily weighted toward healthcare and public health, meaning many positions require degrees in aligned fields for H-1B specialty occupation qualification. The University of Minnesota and its affiliated research programs create a consistent pipeline of international candidates transitioning from OPT to sponsored status. Employers in Minnesota's nonprofit sector sometimes have less experience navigating sponsorship, so roles at larger institutions tend to offer more structured immigration support.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program coordinator jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
