What you’ll do
Technical Specification Review: Review customer technical specifications and commercial terms to ensure alignment with Weir’s product offerings and standards. This involves detailed analysis to accurately select equipment that meets hydraulic and material requirements.
Equipment Selection and Proposal Preparation: Prepare and submit formal quotations and proposals within our ERP system (SAP ECC), collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Daily tasks include sizing pumps and selecting equipment based on customer needs and RFQ packages. Success is measured by accuracy, responsiveness, and timely delivery of proposals.
Order Entry and Technical Support: Accurately enter orders and provide ongoing technical support to customers and internal sales personnel. Troubleshoot technical issues and assist with application questions to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth order processing.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively within a team of Application Engineers and Project Managers to share workload and improve processes. Adaptability and a positive attitude are key to thriving in this dynamic environment.
Travel Requirements: This is an inside sales role with no travel required.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales or application engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical skills in pump selection, proposal development, and ERP system usage (SAP ECC preferred)
- Collaborative mindset with adaptability and a strong willingness to learn
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the mining or chemical industry
- Familiarity with centrifugal pumps or related pump technologies
- Exposure to hydraulic requirements and material properties in equipment selection
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
