Which companies sponsor visas for sales engineers in Massachusetts?
Several Massachusetts-based technology and life sciences employers have documented histories of sponsoring work visas for sales engineers. Companies including HubSpot, Akamai Technologies, PTC, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and MathWorks appear in Department of Labor disclosure data with approved petitions for technical sales roles. Enterprise software and biotech firms along the Route 128 corridor account for a significant share of sponsorship activity in the state.
Which visa types are most common for sales engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for sales engineers in Massachusetts, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the USMCA, which lists engineers among eligible occupations.
How to find sales engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by sponsorship willingness, so you can search for sales engineer roles in Massachusetts without sorting through employers who won't support visa candidates. The platform surfaces positions from companies with active sponsorship histories in the state, covering employers across Boston, Cambridge, Waltham, and the Route 128 technology corridor.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most sales engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge concentrate the largest share of sales engineer sponsorship activity, driven by enterprise software companies, cybersecurity firms, and life sciences employers headquartered or regionally based there. Waltham and Burlington, both along Route 128, also have notable employer density for technical sales roles. Worcester is a smaller but growing market, particularly for industrial and manufacturing-adjacent sales engineering positions.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors sales engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific occupation and metropolitan area, which are determined by the Boston-Cambridge-Nashua wage region for most of the state's major hiring markets. The state's concentration of research universities, including MIT, Boston University, and Northeastern, creates active pipelines from OPT and STEM OPT into sponsored roles at technology and life sciences employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
