Which companies sponsor visas for sales engineers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Salesforce, Oracle, and SAP have a consistent track record of sponsoring visas for sales engineers in Washington. Beyond those names, a wide range of enterprise software, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure companies based in Seattle and Bellevue regularly file H-1B Labor Condition Applications for sales engineer roles, making the state one of the more active sponsorship markets in the country.
Which visa types are most common for sales engineer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales engineers in Washington, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3, which has no lottery and is often faster. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles may be eligible for the TN visa.
Which cities in Washington have the most sales engineer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the large majority of sales engineer sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by the concentration of major tech and enterprise software employers in those cities. Redmond is also significant given Microsoft's headquarters there. Kirkland and Bothell have smaller but active clusters, particularly in cloud services and life sciences technology sectors.
How to find sales engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on positions that won't lead anywhere. For sales engineer roles in Washington, you can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings at companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce that regularly sponsor H-1B and other work visas in the Seattle metro area.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for sales engineer visa sponsorship?
Washington has no state income tax, which is worth understanding when evaluating total compensation alongside federal tax obligations. The state's dense concentration of large tech employers means H-1B prevailing wage requirements are set against a competitive local market, so job offers in the Seattle area tend to reflect that. University pipelines from the University of Washington and Washington State University also feed a competitive pool of engineering candidates that international applicants should be aware of.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
