Search Development Manager Jobs in MontanaDevelopment Manager Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Montana sponsor visas for development managers?
Sponsorship activity for development managers in Montana is most visible among larger healthcare organizations such as Billings Clinic and RiverStone Health, technology companies operating in Bozeman's growing startup corridor, and firms with ties to Montana State University's engineering programs. Nationally headquartered companies with Montana offices, particularly in enterprise software and managed services, are also among the more consistent sponsors for this role.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Montana?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for development manager positions in Montana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Some candidates, depending on nationality, may also be sponsored under the TN visa (Canadian and Mexican nationals) or the E-3 visa (Australian nationals), both of which have no lottery requirement.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for development manager roles in Montana without sifting through positions that won't support visa candidates. Because Montana's sponsorship market is smaller than coastal tech hubs, setting alerts on Migrate Mate for new postings in Billings, Bozeman, and Missoula ensures you don't miss openings as they appear.
Which cities in Montana have the most development manager sponsorship jobs?
Bozeman sees the most activity for development manager roles given its concentration of tech startups and proximity to Montana State University. Billings, as Montana's largest city, offers sponsorship opportunities through healthcare systems and regional enterprise companies. Missoula also has a presence, particularly among companies connected to the University of Montana and remote-first technology employers that have established operations there.
Are there any state-specific considerations for development manager visa sponsorship in Montana?
Montana is not a major H-1B filing volume state, which means the pool of employers with established sponsorship infrastructure is narrower than in states like California or Texas. Employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Billings or Bozeman metropolitan areas, which are determined by the specific job duties and experience level rather than a single statewide figure. Development managers sponsored through Montana-based universities or nonprofits may also have access to cap-exempt H-1B filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
