Which finance companies in Montana sponsor H-1B visas?
The most active H-1B visa sponsors in Montana's finance sector include First Interstate BancSystem and Glacier Bancorp, both headquartered in the state and with histories of filing Labor Condition Applications for professional roles. Regional arms of national firms such as Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and Edward Jones also operate in Montana and have sponsored H-1B workers in finance and banking positions at the national level.
Which cities in Montana have the most finance H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Billings is Montana's largest city and its primary finance hub, hosting the headquarters of First Interstate BancSystem and a concentration of banking, insurance, and investment offices. Missoula and Great Falls follow, with regional bank branches, credit unions, and financial services firms. Helena, as the state capital, also has opportunities in government-adjacent finance roles, including fiscal analysis and public fund management positions.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Montana?
Roles that commonly qualify for H-1B sponsorship are those classified as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In finance, this typically includes financial analysts, credit analysts, compliance officers, risk managers, commercial loan officers, and accounting professionals. General teller or customer service roles do not ordinarily meet the specialty occupation threshold that USCIS requires for H-1B eligibility.
How do I find finance H-1B sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface finance employers in Montana with verified H-1B sponsorship history. Because Montana has a smaller finance job market than major metro states, filtering by confirmed LCA filing history is especially useful for avoiding employers unlikely to sponsor. Migrate Mate pulls that DOL filing data directly, so you can focus your applications on companies with an established sponsorship record.
Are there any Montana-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in finance?
Montana's finance sector is closely tied to agriculture lending, natural resource industries, and community banking, so employers here often hire for roles supporting those verticals. The state has fewer large financial institutions than coastal markets, which means H-1B sponsorship activity is more concentrated among a handful of regional banks and multistate firms with Montana offices. Prevailing wage requirements still apply statewide and can be verified using the OFLC Wage Search tool for specific occupations and locations within Montana.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B finance jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
