Which companies sponsor visas for program associates in Montana?
The most consistent sponsors for program associate roles in Montana tend to be large institutions with established HR infrastructure. The University of Montana and Montana State University both have experience sponsoring H-1B and J-1 visas for program-level staff. Regional nonprofits focused on public health, environmental work, and tribal services also hire internationally, though sponsorship capacity varies significantly by organization size and funding.
Which visa types are most common for program associate roles in Montana?
H-1B is the most common visa for program associates whose roles qualify as specialty occupations, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as public health, social work, or environmental science. J-1 visas are common at universities and research organizations through exchange visitor programs. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories.
How to find program associate visa sponsorship jobs in Montana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program associate roles in Montana by visa sponsorship status, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. You can browse current openings across Missoula, Bozeman, Helena, and other Montana locations, with each listing indicating whether the employer has a documented history of sponsoring international candidates for similar roles.
Which cities in Montana have the most program associate sponsorship jobs?
Missoula and Bozeman account for the majority of program associate openings in Montana, largely because both cities host major universities and affiliated research and nonprofit organizations. Helena, as the state capital, offers public-sector program roles tied to state agencies. Billings has a stronger healthcare and social services presence, which occasionally includes program associate positions at larger regional organizations.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program associates seeking visa sponsorship in Montana?
Montana's program associate market is heavily tied to grant-funded organizations, meaning sponsorship availability can shift with funding cycles. Many roles are embedded within university extension programs, tribal health initiatives, or federally funded nonprofits, which tend to have more experience navigating visa processes than small private employers. Because the state has a limited number of large employers, confirming sponsorship willingness early in the application process is especially important.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program associate jobs in Montana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
