Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapists in Nebraska?
Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Bryan Health are among the larger employers that have sponsored work visas for physical therapists in Nebraska. Outpatient clinic networks and long-term care facilities also sponsor, particularly in underserved rural areas where recruiting domestic candidates is competitive. Staffing agencies with permanent placement divisions occasionally facilitate sponsorship for PT roles as well.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapist roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for physical therapists in Nebraska, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The EB-3 employment-based green card is a frequent long-term pathway, particularly for internationally trained PTs sponsored by larger health systems. Some employers also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican physical therapists under USMCA.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most physical therapist sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of physical therapist sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of major hospital systems and rehabilitation centers. Lincoln is the second most active market, anchored by Bryan Health and University of Nebraska Medical Center affiliates. Smaller cities like Grand Island and Kearney also post PT openings, often with sponsorship, due to persistent rural healthcare shortages.
How to find physical therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find physical therapist roles in Nebraska without sorting through positions that don't support international applicants. You can search by state and role to surface opportunities at Nebraska health systems, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation facilities that have a documented history of sponsoring PTs. Setting up alerts helps you catch new postings early in competitive markets like Omaha.
Are there state-specific considerations for internationally trained physical therapists seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Yes. Nebraska requires physical therapists to pass the Nebraska jurisprudence examination in addition to the NPTE before obtaining state licensure. Internationally trained applicants must also have their credentials evaluated by a recognized body such as FCCPT to confirm equivalency to U.S. entry-level PT education standards. Employers initiating H-1B sponsorship will need confirmed licensure eligibility, so starting the credential evaluation process early is important before approaching potential sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapist jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
