Which companies sponsor visas for occupational therapists in Nevada?
Hospital systems such as Valley Health System, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, and Renown Health in Reno have sponsored occupational therapists in the past. Skilled nursing facility operators and rehabilitation networks, including those affiliated with national chains, also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as Nevada-based OT sponsors. Sponsorship patterns vary by facility size, staffing needs, and budget cycles.
Which visa types are most common for occupational therapist roles in Nevada?
The H-1B is the most common visa for occupational therapists in Nevada, as OT roles qualify as specialty occupations requiring at minimum a master's degree under current AOTA educational standards. Some employers pursue EB-3 green card sponsorship, particularly for candidates already holding H-1B status. International OTs must also obtain a Nevada state license and, if educated abroad, pass the NBCOT exam before beginning work.
Which cities in Nevada have the most occupational therapist sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas and its surrounding Clark County area account for the majority of occupational therapist positions in Nevada, driven by the region's large hospital networks, rehabilitation centers, and aging population. Reno is the second most active market, anchored by Renown Health and several outpatient clinics. Smaller markets like Henderson and North Las Vegas also have openings, primarily in skilled nursing and home health settings.
How to find occupational therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters occupational therapist roles in Nevada by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from manually screening hundreds of listings. You can browse current openings from Nevada employers who have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates. This is particularly useful for OTs navigating H-1B or green card timelines who need to identify willing sponsors quickly.
Are there state-specific considerations for internationally trained occupational therapists in Nevada?
Yes. Nevada requires occupational therapists to hold a license issued by the Nevada State Board of Occupational Therapy, and internationally trained applicants must have their credentials evaluated for equivalency before a license is granted. The NBCOT certification exam is also required. Nevada's healthcare workforce shortage has led some employers to offer sponsorship support, but licensure must typically be secured or in progress before an employer can file an H-1B petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored occupational therapist jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
