Job Description
You don’t see it, but it’s there. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from saving emissions in the City of Lights to powering the Mars Rover to protecting the F-35 fighter jet. At Electronic Systems, you’ll be among the brightest minds, working on the aerospace and defense industry’s most difficult problems. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too.
Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our missions: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®” and “We Innovate For Those Who Move The WorldTM.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with us.
We are seeking a Systems Development and Integration Engineer with strong software development expertise to join our Electronic Warfare platform team. In this role, you will develop, integrate, and deploy software that bridges EW algorithms and processing pipelines with underlying hardware and infrastructure. You will work across the full stack from Linux host configuration and containerized deployment to hardware interfacing with software-defined radios and will play a key role in the continuum between high-fidelity simulation and fielded systems, helping to ensure that performance validated in modeling environments carries through to operational hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop system software in C/C++ and Python, using CMake-based or similar build systems, to implement and integrate EW signal processing and control components
- Integrate software and hardware systems using standard networking and messaging protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, ZeroMQ, and Protocol Buffers
- Configure, maintain, and automate Linux hosts (RHEL, Ubuntu, and related distributions) using Bash, Python, and Ansible
- Build and maintain containerized deployments using Docker and Docker Compose, incorporating ZeroMQ and NATS messaging for inter-service communication
- Support the transition of software modules between simulation environments and hardware platforms, including participation in SWIL and HWIL testing processes
- Develop and maintain web-based portals and UIs for monitoring and controlling deployed software systems
- Interface with software-defined radio hardware (USRP, EPIQ, in-house, and similar) and apply DSP concepts to support EW and communications signal processing pipelines
- Collaborate with algorithm developers, modeling engineers, and systems engineers to ensure that performance characteristics observed in simulation are preserved through integration and onto operational hardware
You will be working at the seam between software and hardware in a hands-on EW development environment — owning the integration layer that connects signal processing algorithms to real radio hardware and operational infrastructure. Critically, this role sits at the boundary between model and product: the work you do directly determines whether performance demonstrated in simulation translates faithfully to fielded systems. The work spans systems programming, infrastructure automation, RF hardware interfacing, and operator tooling, making it a strong fit for engineers who are comfortable moving between layers of the stack.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for systems-level software development
- Experience with CMake or equivalent build system tooling
- Experience integrating networked systems using TCP/IP, UDP, ZeroMQ, and/or Protocol Buffers
- Hands-on Linux administration experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, or related), including scripting with Bash and Python
- Experience with Docker and Docker Compose for containerized software deployment
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible
- Familiarity with web technologies for building operator-facing portals and system dashboards
- Hands-on experience with software-defined radio platforms (USRP, EPIQ, in-house, or similar)
- Familiarity with basic DSP concepts as applied to EW or communications systems (e.g., signal detection, frequency analysis, I/Q processing)
- Exposure to simulation or modeling environments, particularly SWIL/HWIL pipelines or containerized simulation frameworks
- Exposure to microservice messaging architectures using NATS or ZeroMQ
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (GitLab CI/CD or equivalent)

Which technology companies in New Hampshire have sponsored F-1 OPT visas?
New Hampshire technology employers with a history of international hiring include BAE Systems in Nashua (defense and aerospace software), Oracle and Fidelity Investments in Manchester (enterprise software and financial technology), and various smaller software firms along the Route 3 corridor. Defense contractors and fintech companies in the state tend to be the most active in sponsoring international candidates, though sponsorship is determined case by case.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most technology F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua together account for the large majority of New Hampshire's technology employment. Manchester functions as the state's commercial hub with a growing software and IT services cluster, while Nashua hosts significant defense technology and advanced manufacturing employers. Concord sees some public-sector and government IT roles. Candidates in New Hampshire's tech market typically focus their search on these two southern cities first.
How do I find technology F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate lists technology roles in New Hampshire that are open to F-1 OPT candidates, filtering out positions where sponsorship is not available. Because OPT authorization is time-sensitive, using a platform built around visa sponsorship saves the effort of screening out non-sponsoring employers manually. Search Migrate Mate for software engineering, data, and IT roles in Manchester and Nashua to see current F-1 OPT-eligible openings.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in New Hampshire?
Roles that directly apply a candidate's field of study are the clearest fit for OPT authorization. In New Hampshire's technology sector, that includes software engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity, data analysis, and IT project management. Defense technology positions may also require security clearance eligibility, which can complicate sponsorship for some international candidates. Roles loosely connected to a technical degree field warrant a conversation with a designated school official before applying.
Are there any New Hampshire-specific considerations for F-1 OPT candidates in technology?
New Hampshire has a notable concentration of defense contractors, and some positions with employers like BAE Systems or Raytheon require U.S. security clearance, which non-U.S. citizens generally cannot obtain. This narrows the pool of roles accessible to F-1 OPT candidates compared to states without a heavy defense presence. Commercial software, financial technology, and healthcare IT companies in Manchester and Nashua are more commonly accessible to international candidates on OPT.
