INTRODUCTION
We are looking for an HR professional who brings both strong business partnership skills and a deep foundation in talent management and organizational development.
This role supports two dynamic businesses: Global Diagnostics and US Petcare Commercial, together representing approximately 1,800 colleagues across sales, marketing, and commercial functions. Both businesses are in active growth mode, navigating integrations, leadership transitions, and the ongoing work of building bench strength.
As a trusted HRBP to senior leaders in your assigned client groups, you will bring your expertise in talent management to partner across your team.
Responsibilities
HR Business Partnership
You will serve as the HRBP of record for assigned client groups within Global Diagnostics and US Petcare, providing strategic and operational HR support.
- Provide proactive HR generalist counsel and coaching to leaders and managers in assigned client groups.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning, compensation decisions, performance management, and employee relations.
- Bring data and analytics into people conversations. Help leaders make decisions grounded in evidence, not instinct.
- Support systems integration, change management, and colleague alignment during ongoing business integrations.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policy and federal and state employment law, including EEO/AAP requirements.
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence and Zoetis Colleague Services to execute programs effectively and surface needed improvements.
- Build strong relationships across the HR network to collaboratively drive and implement HR strategies.
Talent Management Leadership
You will build and lead structured talent processes for approximately 375 managers across US Petcare and Global DX, in close partnership with business leaders and the HRBP team.
- Lead succession planning for critical roles across Global Diagnostics and US Petcare. Build ready-now and ready-soon pipelines and reduce succession risk.
- Facilitate annual and mid-year talent calibration sessions.
- Drive implementation of individual development plans for high-growth and critical talent, from design through follow-through.
- Design proactive retention strategies for high performers and critical roles, including stay interviews and targeted interventions.
- Partner on M&A and BD integration talent work: leadership continuity planning, culture integration, and post-deal talent mapping.
- Lead organizational design support during restructures and reorgs to ensure the right people are in the right roles.
- In partnership with the Talent COE, build leadership assessment rigor for Director-and-above hiring decisions.
- Diagnose team health and design culture interventions where churn, conflict, or engagement gaps arise.
- Coach managers on performance differentiation, accountability, feedback quality, and retention-linked decisions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant time in a talent management, OD, or HRBP role that included meaningful TM accountability.
- Proven experience designing and facilitating succession planning, talent calibration, or pipeline-building processes for large or distributed populations.
- Solid grounding in organizational design: how structure shapes culture, decision-making, and talent health.
- Experience advising and influencing senior leaders. Comfortable pushing back when the data or the situation calls for it.
- Strong analytical mindset: able to read workforce data, spot trends, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels, including executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.
Preferred
- Experience with M&A, BD integration, or post-acquisition people workstreams.
- Background in learning and development, leadership assessment, or capability-building program design.
- Experience supporting commercial, sales, or marketing-facing organizations.
- Workday proficiency.
- Experience in life sciences, animal health, or a regulated, field-intensive industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required (Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred).

Which companies sponsor visas for assistant manager - sales roles in New Jersey?
Large employers with a history of sponsoring sales management roles in New Jersey include Johnson & Johnson, Cognizant, Infosys, and major retail and consumer goods companies with regional headquarters in the state. Pharmaceutical distributors and technology firms based in the Newark and Princeton corridors have also filed Labor Condition Applications for sales management positions. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate at mid-to-large enterprises rather than small retail operators.
Which visa types are most common for assistant manager - sales roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for assistant manager sales positions in New Jersey, provided the role meets the specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. The L-1B and L-1A are relevant for candidates transferring within a multinational company. TN visa status applies to qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain management or professional classifications. Each category has distinct employer obligations and eligibility requirements.
How to find assistant manager - sales visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse assistant manager sales openings in New Jersey without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location within New Jersey, including Newark, Jersey City, or Princeton, and by industry sector. Migrate Mate's database focuses on employers actively willing to sponsor, saving significant time compared to general job searches.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most assistant manager - sales sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Jersey City generate the highest volume of sponsored sales management roles in New Jersey, driven by their proximity to the New York metro market and concentration of corporate offices. Princeton and the Route 1 corridor attract sponsorship activity from pharmaceutical and technology companies with large sales divisions. Parsippany and Edison also see consistent hiring in sales management, particularly from consumer goods and distribution firms with regional operations there.
Are there state-specific considerations for assistant manager - sales sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the New Jersey metropolitan area, which reflect the state's higher cost of living compared to national averages. The state's dense pharmaceutical and life sciences industry creates demand for sales management professionals with relevant sector experience, which can strengthen an H-1B specialty occupation argument. New Jersey's proximity to New York City also means many roles involve regional responsibilities that span both markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant manager - sales jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
