What you will do:
PGIM is seeking an organized and analytical professional to conduct surveillance of Asset Backed Finance (“ABF”) assets. This individual will work alongside the research teams to track transaction performance across all ABF investments and escalate situations where performance deviates from expectations. This cross-transaction generalist role will also partner with technology teams to improve automated surveillance coverage. The role offers exposure to the full spectrum of PGIM's ABF investments and a direct view into the investment process, making it a strong platform for growth.
- Monitor ABF transactions at the deal level, assessing performance against structural features and against PGIM’s underwriting assumptions.
- Track collateral performance trends against underwritten credit assumptions and translate loan-level performance into deal-level implications.
- Follow and interpret transaction events, such as amendments, restructurings, servicer changes, etc., and communicate the credit impact.
- Produce concise surveillance summaries that highlight performance trends, and forward-looking considerations to inform portfolio reviews; handle ad hoc surveillance requests as they arise.
- Partner with the ABF Deal Team to develop and standardize issuer reporting packages, closing gaps where current reporting is inconsistent or insufficient for effective surveillance.
- Partner with the technology team to improve automated surveillance coverage and strengthen escalation and monitoring practices across the ABF platform.
- Engage with external parties to obtain and interpret transaction-level information, and support portfolio reviews, risk discussions, and internal inquiries with clear, analysis-driven insight.
- Identify and escalate collateral-integrity or cash-reconciliation anomalies, such as unexplained variances between reported and expected collateral or cash, that may signal fraud, double-pledging, or other data-integrity risk.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in securitized products with exposure to a wide range of asset classes.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor securitized products performance at the deal level and loan level.
- Experience reviewing periodic transaction reporting, which includes periodic trustee reporting and ongoing miscellaneous deal notices
- Strong understanding of Intex and Bloomberg
- Programming and data visualization skills required, with the ability to leverage AI to build efficient systems that analyze both existing datasets (e.g., Bloomberg, Intex, dv01) and bespoke issuer reporting not captured by traditional databases
- Detail-oriented and analytical, comfortable managing a steady calendar of recurring surveillance deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate performance views clearly to portfolio managers, traders, research colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Which companies sponsor visas for finance directors in New Jersey?
New Jersey has a strong base of employers that have sponsored finance director roles, including Prudential Financial, Johnson & Johnson, Cognizant, Merck, and Becton Dickinson. Large financial services firms concentrated in Jersey City and Newark also sponsor senior finance positions. Sponsorship activity tends to be highest at multinational corporations with established HR and immigration infrastructure rather than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for finance director roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for finance directors in New Jersey, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. The L-1A is also relevant for candidates transferring from a foreign affiliate or subsidiary into a managerial finance role. Senior candidates with exceptional achievements may explore the O-1A category.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most finance director sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark account for the highest concentration of finance director sponsorship activity in New Jersey, given their proximity to New York City financial markets and the presence of major bank and insurance operations. Parsippany, Florham Park, and Bridgewater are also active, driven by pharmaceutical and consumer goods headquarters. Princeton corridor employers, including life sciences and technology firms, contribute additional sponsorship volume.
How to find finance director visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters finance director roles by state, including New Jersey. Rather than sorting through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Focusing your search on New Jersey's financial services, pharmaceutical, and technology sectors will return the most relevant finance director openings with sponsorship potential.
Are there state-specific considerations for finance director visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey employers sponsoring H-1B finance directors must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. New Jersey's proximity to New York City means prevailing wage determinations often reflect a high-cost metropolitan area, which affects what employers must commit to paying. Candidates should also be aware that New Jersey's dense pharmaceutical and financial sectors mean sponsoring employers often have experienced immigration counsel on staff, which can streamline the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance director jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
