Search Finance Director Jobs in IndianaFinance Director Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for finance directors?
Large employers in Indianapolis are the most consistent sponsors for finance director roles in Indiana. Eli Lilly, Anthem (now Elevance Health), Salesforce, and Cummins have each filed H-1B visa petitions for senior finance positions. Regional banks, hospital networks like Indiana University Health, and manufacturing conglomerates headquartered in the state also sponsor at the director level, though less frequently than large publicly traded companies.
What visa types are most common for finance director roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance directors in Indiana, given that the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in finance may qualify for the O-1A. Those already on H-1B at another employer can transfer sponsorship to an Indiana-based company without waiting for a new lottery selection.
Which Indiana cities have the most finance director sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of sponsored finance director positions in Indiana. It hosts the state's largest corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and financial services firms. Fort Wayne has a smaller but active market tied to manufacturing and insurance employers. South Bend and Bloomington see occasional openings connected to Notre Dame, Indiana University, and regional healthcare organizations, though volume is significantly lower than Indianapolis.
How to find finance director visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state and job title to surface finance director roles in Indiana where employers have a history of visa sponsorship. Because director-level finance positions are not always publicly labeled as sponsor-friendly, using a platform like Migrate Mate that screens for sponsorship signals saves significant time compared to reviewing general job postings manually.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors to know about finance director sponsorship?
Indiana's life sciences and healthcare sectors, both centered in Indianapolis, drive demand for senior finance talent and have established immigration programs to support it. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for finance director roles in the Indianapolis metropolitan area apply to H-1B petitions filed by Indiana employers. Candidates connected to Indiana University's Kelley School of Business or Purdue's Krannert School sometimes enter the market through alumni networks at sponsoring companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance director jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
