Which companies sponsor visas for finance directors in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based employers are the most active sponsors for senior finance roles in Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, and ManpowerGroup have histories of sponsoring skilled foreign nationals in finance leadership positions. Madison employers including UW Health and American Family Insurance also appear in federal labor condition application filings. Larger corporations with international operations are generally more willing to navigate the sponsorship process for director-level hires.
Which visa types are most common for finance directors in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for finance directors in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary recognition in financial leadership may qualify for the O-1A. Those pursuing permanent residency often pursue the EB-2 category, with some qualifying for a National Interest Waiver depending on their background.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most finance director sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee accounts for the majority of finance director sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, insurance companies, and corporate headquarters. Madison is a secondary hub, supported by the University of Wisconsin system, state government-adjacent organizations, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton have smaller but present employer bases in manufacturing and regional banking that occasionally sponsor for senior finance roles.
How to find finance director visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship jobs in the U.S., including finance director roles in Wisconsin. You can filter directly by role and state to see employers actively hiring for sponsored positions. This is more efficient than general job searches because results are filtered for sponsorship eligibility, saving time that would otherwise go toward vetting employers manually for willingness to sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for finance director sponsorship roles in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin finance director roles subject to H-1B sponsorship must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Milwaukee or Madison metropolitan areas, depending on work location. The University of Wisconsin system qualifies as a cap-exempt H-1B employer, which means positions within that system can be filed outside the annual lottery. Wisconsin has no state-level immigration or sponsorship laws that separately govern employer obligations beyond federal requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance director jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
