Which companies sponsor visas for finance directors in Utah?
Technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor, including Qualtrics, Pluralsight, and Domo, have sponsored visas for senior finance roles. Large healthcare organizations such as Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health also have structured HR and legal teams capable of supporting H-1B sponsorship. Multinational corporations with Utah operations, including Adobe and Goldman Sachs, represent additional sponsoring employers for finance director positions.
Which visa types are most common for finance director roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance directors in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Candidates with exceptional achievements in financial leadership may also qualify for the O-1A. Those already holding a multinational employer relationship may consider the L-1A for intracompany transfers into director-level positions.
Which cities in Utah have the most finance director sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of finance director openings in Utah, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and large healthcare systems. Provo and the surrounding Silicon Slopes area, which spans Lehi and American Fork, is a secondary hub given its dense population of technology companies. Ogden and St. George have smaller but growing markets tied to manufacturing and regional business expansion.
How to find finance director visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search finance director openings in Utah without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from technology, healthcare, and financial services companies across Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes region. Filtering by role and state on Migrate Mate gives international candidates a focused starting point rather than reviewing general job listings.
What should international finance director candidates know about Utah's hiring market?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply to finance director roles based on the specific geographic area of intended employment, so Salt Lake City and Provo wage levels are assessed separately. The state's rapid technology sector growth has increased employer familiarity with visa sponsorship at the director level. Candidates with CPA credentials or CFA designations tend to be more competitive, as Utah employers in both tech and healthcare value those qualifications alongside leadership experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance director jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
