Which companies sponsor visas for financial accountants in New Jersey?
New Jersey's major visa sponsors for financial accountant roles include large pharmaceutical companies like Johnson and Johnson, Merck, and Becton Dickinson, as well as financial services firms concentrated in Jersey City and Newark. Multinational logistics and consumer goods companies headquartered along the Route 1 and Route 9 corridors also have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for accounting positions.
Which visa types are most common for financial accountant roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa for financial accountants in New Jersey, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa, and Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under TN visa status using the accountant category, which can offer a simpler process than H-1B.
How to find financial accountant visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to find financial accountant roles in New Jersey without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can search by location and role to surface employers in Newark, Jersey City, Parsippany, and other New Jersey hiring hubs who have active sponsorship history for accounting positions.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most financial accountant sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark are the most active hiring centers for sponsored financial accountant roles in New Jersey, driven by proximity to New York City's financial sector and major corporate headquarters. Parsippany and Florham Park attract candidates through the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, while Edison and New Brunswick see steady demand from multinational manufacturing and life sciences companies.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for financial accountants seeking visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters means many financial accountant openings sit within large corporate finance teams that have established immigration infrastructure. Employers here frequently require CPA licensure or active candidacy for accounting roles, and New Jersey's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations apply to all sponsored positions, meaning your offered compensation must meet the wage level set for your specific county and role.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored financial accountant jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
