Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for lead management visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's high cost of living means the Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for lead management roles in this state tend to be higher than national averages, which employers must meet when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B sponsorship. New Jersey also has a strong university pipeline through Rutgers and NJIT, meaning some employers are familiar with sponsoring candidates transitioning from OPT or STEM OPT extensions into full-time lead management positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored lead management jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
