WHY DOES THE JOB EXIST?
The Minimum Data Set (MDS) / Outcome and Assessment Information Set (Oasis) Clinical Coordinator will:
- Conduct ongoing healthcare surveyor trainings and technical support for all Health Facility Licensing and Certification (HFLC) staff.
- Support the HFLC team and ensure all employees are working efficiently, competently, and to department standards.
HOW DOES IT GET DONE?
The MDS / Outcome and Assessment Information Set (Oasis) Clinical Coordinator is responsible for:
- Providing training, updates, and technical assistance to Nursing Home and Hospital swing bed staff on all aspects of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) program and the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) program.
- Acting as a liaison between Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Nursing Home/Hospital employees regarding the requirements and implementation of the MDS program.
- Providing training, updates, and technical assistance to the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) program in Home Health Agencies.
- Accurately completing all quarterly assessments leads to appropriate reimbursement levels for resident care and prevents facilities from being cited for non-compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with phone and extensive computer usage. Occasional in-state travel is required. Some out-of-pocket expense with reimbursement is required.
