The Financial Management Bureau performs fiscal oversight related to budget, grants, treasury, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement in support of NMDWS's mission.

PURPOSE:
This position leads and supports a team of 2 grant analysts, utilizes federal, state and private funding. This is accomplished through reconciliation of federal grants, reviewing and approving all federal reporting. Coordinating with staff and leadership to gather required documentation to support grant management and compliance. Working with leadership, program staff, and financial management team through monthly financial review (MFR) meetings.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate for this position will:
- Supervise 2 FTE grant financial examiners - including performance evaluation
- Review and approval of federal reporting
- Oversee life cycle of grant administration, from application to close out
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Review and approve grant related financial transactions
- Prepare audit deliverables as assigned
- Review weekly federal draw requests
- Maintain grant records, tracking deadlines, and deliverables
CUSTOMERS:
NMDWS staff, state agencies, and external entities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience as it relates to the essential duties of the position. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
