Which finance companies in New York sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas?
Major financial institutions with consistent H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship activity in New York include JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, and Bank of America. Boutique asset managers, hedge funds, and fintech firms headquartered in Midtown and Lower Manhattan also appear regularly in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for Singapore nationals in finance roles.
Which cities in New York have the most finance H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the primary concentration point, with the Financial District and Midtown hosting the majority of LCA filings for finance roles. Stamford, Connecticut, just across the state border, draws some overflow from New York-based firms. Within New York State, White Plains and Long Island City have smaller but active finance presences tied to major bank back-office and operations divisions.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, meeting the H-1B1 visa specialty occupation standard. Common qualifying positions in New York finance include financial analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, portfolio manager, compliance officer, investment banking associate, and financial engineer. General clerical or sales roles without a degree requirement in a specific financial discipline generally do not qualify.
How do I find finance H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and industry, so you can search directly for finance roles in New York where employers have verified H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship history. Using a platform built around LCA filing data means you can focus on employers who have actively sponsored Singapore nationals before, rather than guessing based on general company size or reputation.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in finance?
New York's finance employers must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for each role's location and occupation code, which tend to be high given the city's cost of living. Financial services firms in New York are also subject to state-level employment regulations and may require FINRA licensing for certain roles, which is separate from visa eligibility. Employers familiar with H-1B1 visa filings in this sector typically have dedicated in-house immigration counsel handling LCA certification and petition filing.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore finance jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
