Tips for Finding H-1B1 Singapore Sponsorship Jobs in New York
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
H-1B1 Singapore requires a degree in a field directly related to the role, not just any bachelor's degree. Use O*NET to confirm your occupation's typical education level before applying to New York employers, so you can flag any mismatch early.
Target industries with consistent LCA filing history
Finance, enterprise software, and life sciences firms in Manhattan and Long Island City file LCAs for H-1B1 Singapore roles regularly. Prioritize employers whose DOL Labor Condition Application history shows filings in your occupation code, not just general H-1B visa activity.
Ask about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Your New York employer must certify an LCA with DOL before USCIS can approve your petition. Ask HR where they are in that process during the offer stage. A delayed LCA certification can push your start date by weeks.
Search H-1B1 Singapore jobs using Migrate Mate
Filter your New York job search by verified H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. The platform pulls DOL Labor Condition Application data so you're targeting employers who have actually filed for this visa type, not just ones who say they sponsor.
Check the annual cap window before negotiating start dates
The H-1B1 Singapore visa has an annual cap of 5,400 visas. If you're negotiating a start date with a New York employer in the second half of the fiscal year, confirm with USCIS whether cap numbers are still available before committing to a timeline.
Cross-reference your offered wage against OFLC prevailing rates
Before signing an offer from a New York employer, look up your role's prevailing wage using the OFLC Wage Search. Your offered salary must meet that threshold for the LCA to be certified, and NYC metro rates are among the highest in the country.

Which industries in New York sponsor the most H-1B1 Singapore visas?
Financial services, technology, and professional consulting firms in New York file the highest volume of H-1B1 Singapore LCAs. Investment banks, asset managers, and fintech companies in Midtown Manhattan are particularly active, alongside enterprise software firms and healthcare organizations in the broader NYC metro area.
Which cities in New York have the most H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the largest share of H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship activity in New York, driven by its concentration of finance and professional services employers. The surrounding metro areas of Long Island City, Jersey City-adjacent roles, White Plains, and Midtown Brooklyn also have meaningful sponsorship activity, particularly in tech and consulting.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in New York?
Roles in software engineering, financial analysis, data science, actuarial science, and management consulting consistently qualify because they require a specialized degree directly related to the position. New York employers also file H-1B1 Singapore applications for roles in biomedical research, systems architecture, and quantitative finance. The defining requirement is that the role demands at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree.
How do I find H-1B1 Singapore jobs in New York?
Use Migrate Mate to search for New York employers with verified H-1B1 Singapore LCA filing history. This filters out employers who have never filed for this specific visa type, saving you time on applications unlikely to lead to sponsorship. Cross-reference shortlisted employers against the DOL's public disclosure data to confirm recent activity in your occupation code.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
