Which technology companies sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas in New York?
Technology and tech-adjacent employers in New York with documented H-1B1 visa sponsorship history include Google, Amazon Web Services, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce, Bloomberg, and major financial institutions with large engineering divisions such as JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs. Consulting firms like Cognizant and Infosys also file H-1B1 petitions for Singapore nationals placed on New York technology engagements. Sponsorship activity and volume vary by employer and year.
Which cities in New York have the most technology H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the highest concentration of technology H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship roles in New York, driven by its density of enterprise technology, fintech, and media companies. Brooklyn's growing tech and startup sector in neighborhoods like DUMBO and Industry City adds secondary demand. Albany sees occasional roles tied to state government IT contracts, and Buffalo and Rochester have emerging technology employment tied to semiconductor manufacturing and university research partnerships.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must meet the H-1B1 specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In technology, qualifying positions commonly include software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, cloud architects, cybersecurity analysts, DevOps engineers, and systems analysts. General IT support or roles where any unrelated degree is accepted typically do not qualify. The employer confirms the specialty occupation requirement when filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL.
How do I find technology H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship roles within the technology sector in New York, surfacing employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. This is more targeted than general job searches because it shows companies that have actively sponsored Singapore nationals rather than those that may be open to it in principle. Start on Migrate Mate, filter by visa type, state, and industry to build a list of confirmed-sponsoring employers to prioritize in your applications.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore technology sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements follow DOL wage levels, but New York City's high cost of living means many employers structure offers at wage level III or IV to remain competitive, which can work in applicants' favor for meeting H-1B1 wage standards. New York State also has strong worker protection laws that apply to H-1B1 holders once employed. Singapore nationals should confirm their employer is registered with E-Verify if the role involves any government contract work, as that is a separate federal requirement.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore technology jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
