Which companies sponsor visas for product directors in New York?
Large technology, finance, and media companies headquartered or with major New York offices are the most consistent sponsors. Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Bloomberg, Pfizer, Spotify, and Squarespace have all historically sponsored senior product roles. Established enterprises with dedicated immigration legal teams are generally better positioned to manage the sponsorship process than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for product director roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product directors in New York, as the role clearly qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Senior candidates with exceptional achievement may qualify for the O-1A. Candidates already working in the U.S. on L-1A visas through multinational transfers are also common at director level, particularly at global firms with New York offices.
Which cities in New York have the most product director sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of product director sponsorship jobs in New York state. Midtown and Lower Manhattan host the densest concentration, driven by finance, media, and enterprise technology employers. Brooklyn's DUMBO and Williamsburg neighborhoods have a secondary cluster of product-focused tech companies. Albany and Buffalo have limited product director opportunities compared to the New York City metro area.
How to find product director visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify product director roles in New York where employers have confirmed willingness to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of general listings, you can focus on companies already open to international candidates. Filtering by New York and seniority level on Migrate Mate surfaces director-level product roles most relevant to your search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for product directors seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York state requires employers to post the prevailing wage on the Labor Condition Application publicly at the worksite, which gives candidates useful context on what the role is benchmarked against. New York City's dense university pipeline from Columbia, NYU, and Cornell Tech means competition at the senior level skews toward candidates with demonstrable product leadership track records. Companies in regulated industries like finance and healthcare may have longer internal sponsorship approval processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product director jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
