- Ensure platform changes are consumable: versioning/migration approach, documentation, release notes, and adoption plans for downstream teams.
Embedded Product Owner (delivery execution for the squad)
- Serve as day-to-day Product Owner for a scrum team: backlog ownership, refinement, sprint planning, demos, retros, and crisp acceptance criteria / definition of ready & done.
- Create and maintain delivery artifacts appropriate to technical work: PRDs/RFCs, service/API requirements, data contracts, batch/file specifications, process flows, and operational runbooks.
Technical partnership in a legacy/complex environment
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture to deliver in a legacy ecosystem (Mainframe + AS/400; file/batch integrations), collaborating effectively with COBOL and Java teams, and leveraging modern services/APIs where applicable.
- Identify tradeoffs and manage risks across scope, timeline, compliance, technical constraints, and operational impact; escalate decisions appropriately and drive closure.
Cross-functional leadership & operational rigor (lead through influence)
- Drive alignment and decision-making across Sales/GTM, Partner teams, Operations, Risk/Compliance, Customer Support, Implementation, and Finance.
- Lead launch/release readiness: internal enablement, training, communications, release notes, and partner coordination to ensure consistent execution.
- Operate with a production-ownership mindset: partner on incident triage, root cause follow-up, prevention, and quality/stability improvements.

Which companies sponsor visas for product directors in Tennessee?
The most active sponsors for senior product roles in Tennessee tend to be large enterprise employers in healthcare technology and services. Companies such as HCA Healthcare, Change Healthcare, Asurion, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center have established visa sponsorship programs and regularly hire product leadership. Smaller startups in the Nashville tech corridor occasionally sponsor as well, though less consistently than large, publicly traded employers.
Which visa types are most common for product directors in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product directors, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Candidates with significant prior U.S. work history may also be evaluated for L-1A intracompany transferee status if relocating from a foreign affiliate. O-1 petitions are less common but possible for candidates with documented industry recognition.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most product director sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is by far the strongest market for product director visa sponsorship in Tennessee, driven by the city's concentration of health technology, insurance technology, and enterprise software companies. Memphis has a smaller but active job market tied to logistics, healthcare, and financial services firms. Smaller tech communities exist in Knoxville and Chattanooga, though sponsored product director openings there are considerably less frequent.
How to find product director visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking sponsored roles and lets you filter product director jobs by state, including Tennessee. Because sponsorship details are often not listed clearly on general job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with a documented history of sponsoring product talent, saving you time vetting companies that are unlikely to sponsor. Focusing your search on Nashville-headquartered health tech and enterprise software firms will yield the most relevant results.
What should product directors know about the Tennessee market before pursuing sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which is a notable difference from most states and can factor into how employers structure total compensation for senior hires. The Nashville health technology cluster is the dominant hiring hub, so candidates with product experience in healthcare platforms, clinical workflows, or health insurance systems are particularly well positioned. Vanderbilt University and other regional institutions also supply a local pipeline, meaning competition from domestic candidates at the director level is active.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product director jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
