Which companies sponsor visas for product directors in Minnesota?
Several large Minnesota-headquartered employers have consistent track records of sponsoring H-1B visas for senior product roles. UnitedHealth Group, Target, Best Buy, Medtronic, and Ecolab have all appeared in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for product-level positions. Mid-size health tech and retail tech firms in the Twin Cities metro also sponsor, though less frequently. Sponsorship is never guaranteed and varies by role, team, and business need.
Which visa types are most common for product director roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product director roles in Minnesota, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, business, or engineering. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement in product leadership. Candidates already holding L-1A intracompany transferee status through a multinational employer may also transition into director-level roles this way.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most product director sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul together account for the overwhelming majority of product director sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. Minneapolis alone is home to the headquarters of Target, Ameriprise Financial, and several health-focused technology companies. Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, both suburban Twin Cities communities, also host significant employer campuses including UnitedHealth Group and Optum, where senior product leadership hiring is active.
How to find product director visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify product director roles in Minnesota without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can search by role and state to surface relevant openings at companies like UnitedHealth Group, Target, and Medtronic. Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers, so the jobs listed are sourced with sponsorship context in mind.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for product director sponsorship in Minnesota?
Product director roles in Minnesota are classified under specialty occupation standards, meaning employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying the position meets prevailing wage requirements before sponsoring an H-1B. Minnesota's strong university system, including the University of Minnesota, produces technology and business graduates who often enter product career tracks, creating a competitive local talent pipeline that employers weigh alongside international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product director jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
