Enterprise technology and SaaS companies are among the most consistent sponsors for sales account executive roles in New York. Which visa types are most common for sales account executive roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for sales account executives in New York, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or communications. Which cities in New York have the most sales account executive sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan, accounts for the overwhelming majority of sponsored sales account executive roles in the state. Midtown and the Flatiron District house dense concentrations of tech and media employers actively hiring for this role. Buffalo and Albany have a smaller but growing presence, particularly in healthcare technology and government-adjacent software sales, though sponsorship activity there is considerably lower than in NYC.
Are there any state-specific considerations for sales account executives seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing Labor Condition Applications for sales account executive roles must pay at least the prevailing wage for that occupation in the metropolitan area, which is set by the Department of Labor. Candidates from universities in New York with strong business programs, such as NYU Stern or Columbia Business School, often have existing recruiter relationships with NYC-based sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales account executive jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
