Which companies sponsor visas for strategy analysts in New York?
Financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup regularly sponsor strategy analyst roles in New York, as do management consulting firms such as McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Deloitte. Technology companies with large New York offices, including Google, Amazon, and Meta, also have established sponsorship programs. Sponsorship practices vary by employer and are not guaranteed, so researching each company's hiring history is worthwhile.
Which visa types are most common for strategy analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for strategy analysts in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, or finance. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT may also work under those authorizations while pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Some multinational firms use L-1B or O-1 visas depending on the candidate's profile and circumstances.
Which cities in New York have the most strategy analyst sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of strategy analyst sponsorship opportunities in New York State, driven by the concentration of financial services firms, consulting offices, and technology companies in Midtown and Lower Manhattan. Brooklyn has seen growth in tech-adjacent strategy roles. Albany and Buffalo have smaller markets, primarily in healthcare systems and government-adjacent organizations, but sponsorship activity there is considerably more limited.
How to find strategy analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters strategy analyst jobs in New York to those where employers have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship. Rather than sifting through general job postings, you can browse roles on Migrate Mate that are relevant to your visa situation, saving significant time during an already stressful job search. Focusing on financial services and consulting firms headquartered in Manhattan will give you the broadest pool of sponsoring employers.
What should international candidates know about strategy analyst hiring in New York specifically?
New York's Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B petitions filed for roles in the state, and employers must certify that the offered compensation meets those thresholds before USCIS will approve the petition. Candidates from top business and policy programs, including Columbia, NYU Stern, and Cornell, often enter New York's strategy analyst market through established recruiting pipelines that include sponsorship-friendly employers. Financial services roles may also require FINRA licensing, which is independent of visa status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
