Which consulting companies sponsor TN visas in New York?
The largest sponsors of TN visas in New York's consulting sector include the Big Four accounting and advisory firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG), the major strategy firms (McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain), and large technology and management consultancies like Accenture, IBM Consulting, and Booz Allen Hamilton. These firms have dedicated immigration support teams and regularly petition for TN status for qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Which cities in New York have the most consulting TN sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant market, hosting the New York offices of virtually every major consulting firm and the bulk of TN-sponsored roles. Albany sees some consulting demand tied to state government advisory work. Buffalo and Rochester have smaller but active professional services markets, particularly in healthcare and regional business consulting. For most TN visa holders targeting consulting work in New York, Manhattan remains the primary focus.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN-eligible consulting roles must fall within a designated USMCA professional category. In the consulting industry, the most commonly used categories are Management Consultant, Economist, Engineer (various disciplines), Computer Systems Analyst, Accountant, and Scientific Technician. The job duties must align precisely with the category's definition. Generalist roles with broad or undefined responsibilities are more likely to face scrutiny, so a specific, well-documented job description is important.
How do I find consulting TN sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, allowing you to filter consulting jobs in New York by TN visa sponsorship so you only see employers willing to support TN status. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations later. Beyond job listings, Migrate Mate also provides guidance on which consulting roles qualify under USMCA categories, helping Canadian and Mexican professionals identify the right opportunities in New York's market.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in consulting?
New York consulting roles often involve client-site work across multiple locations, which is generally permissible under TN status as long as you remain employed by the sponsoring firm and the work aligns with your approved role. New York City's concentration of financial services clients means many consulting TN holders work in financial advisory or risk consulting, which can qualify under the Economist or Management Consultant category depending on specific duties. Employers in New York are generally experienced with TN documentation given the market's size.
