Which insurance companies sponsor TN visas in New York?
New York's insurance sector includes some of the largest TN-sponsoring employers in the country. Chubb, AIG, MetLife, New York Life, Prudential, Marsh McLennan, and Zurich North America all have significant New York operations and have filed TN-qualifying positions in actuarial, underwriting, and risk management. Sponsorship patterns vary by role and hiring cycle, so checking current job postings directly is the most reliable indicator of active sponsorship.
Which cities in New York have the most insurance TN sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the majority of insurance TN roles in New York, particularly in commercial lines, reinsurance, and corporate risk functions tied to global carriers and brokerages. White Plains and Melville on Long Island also host regional insurance operations. Albany sees some state-regulated insurance and compliance hiring. For most actuarial and underwriting TN roles, New York City is by far the primary market.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa categories commonly applied to insurance include Accountant, Actuary, Computer Systems Analyst, Engineer, and Management Consultant. Actuaries are the most straightforward fit, as the role maps directly to a named TN category. Underwriters, risk analysts, and data scientists may qualify depending on how the position is defined and the applicant's qualifying degree. The specific job duties and educational credentials must align with a recognized TN occupation category.
How do I find insurance TN sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa holders and lists insurance jobs in New York filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you're not sifting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. Search by industry and location to find roles at carriers and brokerages actively hiring TN candidates. Migrate Mate also provides context on which roles and employers have a history of TN sponsorship in insurance.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for TN insurance sponsorship?
New York's insurance industry is heavily regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services, which means compliance, legal, and regulatory roles are common but may require state-specific licensing in addition to TN status. Some actuarial roles require Casualty Actuarial Society or Society of Actuaries credentials regardless of visa type. Employers in New York's reinsurance and specialty markets often prefer candidates with international exposure, which can work in favor of Canadian and Mexican applicants.
