Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in New York?
The Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY) are among the most active sponsors of TN visas for accounting professionals in New York, given their large Manhattan offices and continuous hiring cycles. Regional firms such as Grant Thornton, BDO, and Marcum also sponsor TN workers, as do major financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup that maintain in-house accounting and finance teams.
Which cities in New York have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant market, driven by the concentration of financial services firms, Big Four offices, and corporate headquarters in Midtown and the Financial District. Buffalo has a growing professional services presence, and Albany sees demand from government contractors and public accounting firms. For most TN-seeking accounting professionals, New York City accounts for the vast majority of available sponsorship roles in the state.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Under the TN visa category, qualifying accounting roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a related field. Positions such as staff accountant, senior accountant, audit associate, tax consultant, financial analyst, and management accountant commonly meet the criteria. The role must align with the academic preparation of the applicant, so employers typically require a degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline as a genuine prerequisite.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for professionals who need visa sponsorship, including TN candidates seeking accounting roles in New York. Rather than sorting through postings that don't mention sponsorship at all, Migrate Mate filters jobs by visa type and state, so you can browse accounting openings in New York where TN sponsorship is already part of the employer's hiring process. This saves significant time compared to general job searches.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for TN accounting sponsorship?
New York's competitive hiring market means employers in financial services and public accounting are accustomed to sponsoring TN visas, but candidates should note that New York State has its own CPA licensure requirements separate from the TN visa itself. A TN visa authorizes work in the U.S. but does not substitute for state professional licensing. Canadian and Mexican accountants pursuing CPA-designated roles should research New York State Board of Public Accountancy requirements in parallel with their visa process.
