Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in Maryland?
Large public accounting firms with Maryland offices, including Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and KPMG, are among the most consistent sponsors of TN visas for accounting professionals. Regional firms like CohnReznick and SB & Company also hire internationally. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors, such as Booz Allen Hamilton and Leidos, creates additional demand for accountants and auditors who qualify under the TN category.
Which cities in Maryland have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda and Rockville in Montgomery County have the highest concentration of accounting TN opportunities, driven by proximity to Washington, DC, and the federal contracting sector. Baltimore is the second major hub, with a strong presence of financial institutions, healthcare systems like Johns Hopkins, and regional accounting firms. Annapolis and Columbia also have active hiring, particularly in government-adjacent financial and audit roles.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
The TN visa covers Accountants specifically, requiring a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in accounting or a related field. Roles such as staff accountant, senior accountant, internal auditor, financial analyst with accounting duties, tax accountant, and CPA-track positions at public firms generally qualify. Roles where the core duties are primarily bookkeeping or clerical finance work, without a degree requirement tied to the position, are less likely to meet TN standards.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate is the most targeted place to find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Maryland, since the platform filters specifically for employers willing to sponsor TN visas in the accounting and auditing sector. This removes the guesswork of contacting firms that don't support TN sponsorship. Filtering by Maryland and the TN visa type on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from both national firms with local offices and Maryland-based employers actively hiring Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Are there any Maryland-specific considerations for TN accounting sponsorship?
Maryland's proximity to the federal government means many accounting roles involve government contracts, which can require security clearances. Canadian and Mexican TN applicants should confirm early whether a role requires clearance, as that process is separate from TN status and can affect timelines. Additionally, Maryland CPA licensure follows its own requirements, so verifying how your home-country credentials are evaluated by the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy is worth doing before accepting an offer.
