Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in Utah?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have Salt Lake City offices and a documented history of TN visa sponsorship for Canadian accounting professionals. Regional firms such as Haynie & Company and Squire & Company also hire TN workers. Utah's expanding tech and fintech sector has added corporate accounting roles at companies like Ancestry and Qualtrics.
Which cities in Utah have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of accounting TN opportunities in Utah, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, corporate headquarters, and Big Four offices. Provo and the Silicon Slopes corridor generate demand for corporate and management accountants at tech companies. Ogden and St. George offer smaller but growing markets, particularly in public accounting and regional CPA firms.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Under the TN visa category, qualifying accounting roles include public accountant, certified public accountant (CPA), auditor, financial analyst with accounting duties, tax specialist, and management accountant. The role must require, at minimum, a baccalaureate degree in accounting or a closely related field. Bookkeeping and accounting clerk positions generally do not qualify because they do not require a qualifying degree at the professional level.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian professionals seeking TN-eligible roles, and filters accounting positions in Utah by employers with verified TN sponsorship history. Rather than sorting through generic postings, you can search directly for accountant, auditor, and tax roles where employers already understand the TN process. This significantly narrows the field to companies actively hiring Canadian accounting professionals in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for accounting TN sponsorship in Utah?
Utah does not require a state-issued CPA license solely to secure a TN visa, but employers hiring for roles that involve signing audit reports or practicing public accounting may expect CPA licensure or eligibility under Utah's Board of Accountancy rules. Canadian CPAs credentialed through CPA Canada should verify their credentials meet Utah's equivalency standards if the role requires licensed public accounting, as this is an employer and state licensing question separate from the TN visa itself.
