ABOUT DSC:
In 2011, Dollar Shave Club didn't just shake up the shaving aisle—we reinvented it. A viral video put us on the map, and our direct-to-consumer model challenged an entire industry by making great razors accessible, affordable, and actually fun to buy.
Since then, we've grown far beyond blades. From grooming to personal care, we've built a lineup of quality essentials designed to make life easier (and smoother), whether you find us online or in stores near you.
Today, DSC is expanding into new categories and new markets, but our DNA hasn't changed. We're still here to cut the BS, deliver real value, and bring a little humor to the everyday routine.
So what are you waiting for? Join the Club.
ROLE SUMMARY:
We're looking for a Social Media Growth Intern to join the Growth team and have an active hand in reframing our paid social strategy, making it sharper, more relevant, and directly tied to the KPIs that move the business. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in social strategy, content briefing, and performance analysis.
Your work will focus heavily on platform-specific research, identifying the distinct behaviors of users across major social platforms to ensure our creative feels native and high-performing. You will directly support our middle-of-funnel goals by helping build a content playbook designed to bridge the gap between initial brand awareness and active consideration. This is a great opportunity for someone who not only spots compelling content but thinks critically about the where and why behind platform success.
Responsibilities:
- Support the growth team in planning and executing content across platforms
- Assist in developing middle-of-funnel, educational content including product explainers, how-tos, ingredient callouts, and routine-building posts — that move consumers from awareness to consideration
- Conduct social listening and trend research to surface relevant content opportunities and competitive insights that inform our strategy
- Collaborate with the creative team to brief and review assets, ensuring content resonates with target audiences
- Help track and report on social performance metrics, pulling key learnings that the team can use to optimize future content
- Explore AI tools that improve content efficiency and scale impact, from ideation and brief writing to asset iteration and performance analysis
- Participate in team brainstorms and contribute fresh ideas, platform-native concepts, and culturally relevant angles that reflect DSC's humor-forward brand voice
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field
- Platform-Native Fluency: Deep familiarity with Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat with a strong intuition for what makes content feel "native" vs. "disruptive" on each
- Research Skills: Strong ability to synthesize trends and data into organized, actionable documents (e.g., playbooks or best-practice guides)
- Organization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple content tracks and documentation updates simultaneously
- Experience: Previous internship or personal project experience involving social media strategy, content audits, or digital marketing is preferred
WHAT YOU'LL TAKE WITH YOU:
- Hands-on experience developing and executing media for a nationally recognized consumer brand across multiple product lines
- A deeper understanding of how media drives consumer education and purchase consideration
- Exposure to the full content lifecycle — from briefing and ideation to publishing and performance analysis
- Mentorship and direct feedback from experienced media professionals
- Sharpened skills in platform strategy, competitor research, performance analytics and AI tools
- Working knowledge of how media, creative, and DTC teams collaborate in a consumer goods environment
- Strong cross-functional relationships and a network within the DSC team
POSITION TYPE:
This is an hourly position, working 24 hours per week (Tuesday - Thursday).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This internship is in-office, working out of our HQ in Durham, North Carolina 3x a week.
PAY:
$20/hr
APPLICATION PROCESS:

Which companies sponsor visas for growth professionals in North Carolina?
Charlotte-based Red Ventures and LendingTree have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in marketing and growth analytics roles. In the Research Triangle, companies like Bandwidth, Pendo, and SAS Institute have filed LCAs for growth-adjacent positions. Large financial institutions headquartered in Charlotte, including Bank of America and Truist, also sponsor growth and digital marketing roles at scale.
Which visa types are most common for growth roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for growth professionals in North Carolina, typically covering roles like growth analyst, marketing data analyst, and product growth manager where a relevant bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under marketing or computer systems analyst categories. Australians with qualifying roles may be eligible for the E-3 visa.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most growth sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and Durham concentrate the highest volume of growth sponsorship activity, driven by the Research Triangle's dense cluster of SaaS, healthtech, and analytics companies. Charlotte follows closely, anchored by fintech, e-commerce, and financial services firms that regularly hire for growth and performance marketing positions. Smaller but active pockets exist in Chapel Hill and the surrounding university-adjacent startup ecosystem.
How to find growth visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters growth roles in North Carolina by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through postings that don't apply to you. Search for titles like growth analyst, growth marketing manager, or user acquisition specialist and filter by North Carolina to surface employers actively filing LCAs or sponsoring H-1B workers in this field.
Are there any state-specific considerations for growth roles and visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle draws talent pipelines from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke, which means employers in the region are experienced with OPT and STEM OPT extensions for F-1 graduates entering growth roles. The state's fintech and SaaS concentration also means many growth positions are classified under specialty occupation categories that support H-1B sponsorship, though each petition depends on the specific job duties and employer documentation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored growth jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
