Which technology companies in North Carolina sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Several large technology employers in North Carolina have filed Labor Condition Applications supporting H-1B1 visa Chile workers, including Cisco, IBM, Red Hat, Lenovo, and SAS Institute. Major financial technology and cloud services firms based in Charlotte and the Research Triangle also appear in DOL disclosure data as active H-1B1 sponsors. Reviewing OFLC disclosure data by employer and location gives Chilean nationals a reliable picture of which companies have a filing history.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill collectively form the Research Triangle, which accounts for the highest concentration of technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in North Carolina. Charlotte follows as a secondary hub, particularly for fintech and enterprise software roles. Smaller markets like Cary, Morrisville, and Research Triangle Park also host technology employers with established sponsorship track records.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B1 criteria typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In technology, this commonly includes software engineers, data scientists, cloud architects, cybersecurity analysts, DevOps engineers, and machine learning specialists. General IT support or roles where any bachelor's degree suffices regardless of field tend not to meet the specialty occupation standard. O*NET occupation profiles can help assess whether a specific role meets degree-field requirements.
How do I find technology H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate surfaces technology roles in North Carolina filtered by employers with verified H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application filing history, so you can focus on companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor Chilean nationals. Searching by the Technology and Software category alongside the North Carolina location filter narrows results to active opportunities at employers whose DOL filing records confirm prior H-1B1 sponsorship activity in the state.
Are there any North Carolina-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in technology?
North Carolina does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal DOL and USCIS obligations, but technology employers in Research Triangle Park often work with high volumes of international hires and may have established immigration processes. Unlike the H-1B visa, the H-1B1 Chile category has no lottery and draws from an annual allocation of 1,400 visas reserved exclusively for Chilean nationals, which can make timeline planning more straightforward for both employers and applicants.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile technology jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
