Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in North Carolina?
Several major North Carolina employers have established sponsorship track records for program manager roles. In the Research Triangle area, SAS Institute, Cisco, and Lenovo are consistent sponsors. Charlotte's financial sector includes Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Life sciences companies such as Novo Nordisk and Syneos Health also sponsor program managers, particularly for roles tied to clinical operations and regulatory programs.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program managers in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Some employers also sponsor L-1B or L-1A visas for program managers transferring from an overseas office. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles align with the qualifying occupation list.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and the broader Research Triangle Park corridor, which includes Durham and Chapel Hill, account for the largest share of program manager sponsorship activity in North Carolina. Charlotte is a strong secondary market, driven by its financial services and technology sectors. Smaller but notable clusters exist in Cary, where several enterprise software and hardware companies maintain significant operations.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters program manager roles in North Carolina by visa sponsorship availability, so you're only seeing positions where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process. Filtering by North Carolina surfaces roles across the Research Triangle, Charlotte, and Cary markets in one place.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for program managers in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle is home to a high concentration of university research partnerships, which means some program manager roles are tied to sponsored research or government contracts. These positions may carry additional compliance requirements around work authorization. The state's strong pipeline from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke also means competition from OPT candidates, which influences how employers structure sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
